Course Description:
This 3-day course is designed to provide training to Agency personnel to develop skills necessary to perform as the Liaison Officer assigned to a Type 2 Incident Management Team (IMT). This course is divided into 8 units. It consists of lecture, class discussion, and individual and group exercises.
This course is intended for U.S. EPA and U.S. Coast Guard personnel who have completed Incident Command System I-100, 200, 300, 400, IS-700b and IS-800d level courses and who have been identified to be part of an Incident Management Team.
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between assisting and cooperating
agencies.
- Describe the duties, responsibilities, and authority
Agency Representatives must have to perform their duties.
- List the items for consideration in establishing a
work location at an incident.
- List the conditions that indicate additional staffing
is needed.
- Describe the Liaison Officer's responsibilities in the
incident demobilization process.
